How we use cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files saved in your browser. We also use similar browser storage in a limited way where it helps the signup flow or campaign attribution work properly.
On the current build, essential cookies are used for the signup journey and to remember your consent choice. Optional analytics and marketing tools are off by default and only turn on if you choose them.
Essential cookies
These are used because the related feature would not work properly without them.
| Storage | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| handover_onboarding | A first-party, HTTP-only cookie that keeps the temporary subscriber session alive between signup and the short post-signup onboarding flow. | Up to 7 days |
| handover_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted optional analytics and marketing cookies so we do not ask on every page load. | Up to 6 months |
Optional analytics and marketing tools
These tools only run after you enable the relevant category in the preference panel below.
| Storage or tool | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|
| handover_attribution_v1 in local storage | Stores UTM parameters, referral code, referrer, and landing path on your device so we can tell which source led to a signup. | Analytics |
| Google Analytics on the thank-you page | Measures visits and post-signup performance when analytics consent is on. | Analytics |
| Google Ads tag on the thank-you page | Measures ad conversions and campaign performance when marketing consent is on. | Marketing |
| Meta Pixel on the thank-you page | Measures signups and campaign performance for Meta advertising when marketing consent is on. | Marketing |
Essential cookies stay on because the site needs them to work. Optional analytics and marketing tools stay off until you choose otherwise.
Essential
These keep core journeys working, including the short-lived signup onboarding session and remembering your cookie choice.
Analytics
Lets us measure which campaigns or pages led to a signup and enables Google Analytics on the thank-you page.
Marketing
Allows advertising and conversion tags such as Meta Pixel and Google Ads on the post-signup thank-you page.
Browser controls
You can also block or clear cookies through your browser settings. If you do that, parts of the site, signup journey, or onboarding flow may stop working as intended until essential cookies are allowed again.
For a broader explanation of how personal data is handled alongside these technologies, see our privacy notice.
